Congratulations go out to Jenkins Elementary ORRF group on their performance.

Jenkins Elementary won the health food challenge that was sponsored by the US Department of Agriculture.

Last week, Jenkins Elementary was the recipient of 100 free pairs of shoes for its students. The company, “Shoes That Fit” actively seeks out schools whose students may be in need of new shoes. They make contact with the schools and make arrangements for students who need good shoes to receive a pair from them.

Congratulations to the Jenkins ES Chess club for taking top honors in the First Move Valentine’s Day online Chess tournament. The Jaguars, under the leadership of club sponsor Jason Gershon, took first place by completing the highest number of chess matches online. The Jaguars also had the top winner, Dace Kirby, who completed the highest number of online chess matches.

Jenkins Elementary was the recipient of a Science grant funded by the Target Corporation. The grant allows JES students to experience and interact with animals from all over the world. Mrs. Jenkins, 3rd grade Math and Science teacher, was the catalyst behind the grant. The Target Corporation, which has hundreds of stores nationwide, covers 100% admission for all 3rd grade students and also provides a 30 minute animal encounter special presentation.

As a CHAMPS Plan incentive 3rd grade was able to fill up the gum ball machine for doing an outstanding job.
