It's a GREAT Day to be a MIGHTY LION!
Congratulations go out to Principal Tia Simmons for being named Spring ISD's 2015-2016 Secondary Principal of the Year! We could not be more proud of our Mighty Lioness! Way to go, Ms. Simmons!

Morning Traffic Flow:

Thank you for your flexibility as we work through morning traffic flow and make the parking lot a safer place for our students. We do need a bit of assistance from you. Please DO NOT stop on the I45N feeder road to let students out of vehicles, it is not only dangerous, it causes additional traffic congestion. We ask that you please follow the directions of the officer that is directing traffic. In advance, we appreciate your help, flexibility, and support as we work to ensure student safety.

Safety Reminder:

With the second semester of the school year now fully underway, we thought it would be appropriate and timely to remind EVERYONE of the policies and procedures we have in place to ensure our students and staff have a safe, secure and orderly learning environment.

·  Visitors are required to check in at the front desk and submit their driver’s license or photo ID for scanning.

·  A name tag will be provided to visitors to wear while in the building. The name tag should be returned to the main office prior to leaving the campus.

·  Students must wear their Student ID badges at all times.

·  Backpacks are not required but if they are used, they must be clear or mesh.

·  Students are required to enter the building at designated security access points.

o    The Main Entrance (Front of Building)

o    The Arts, Communication & Design Entrance (Rear of Building)

o    The Black Box Entrance (Rear of Building)

·  All campus entrances, with the exception of the Attendance Office, will be secured at 7:10 a.m. to ensure all students have properly entered the building.

·  After 7:10 a.m. all students will be required to enter through the Attendance Office and tardy students will receive a pass to enter their classrooms.

·  Students are not allowed to open locked exterior doors for others to enter. Doing so would be a breach of security, and disciplinary consequences will apply.

·  The student dress code and student code of conduct will be strictly enforced. This information is available in the student handbook on our Spring High website at www.springisd.org/spring.

The safety of our students and staff is always our absolute top priority. Please be assured that we will take every precaution to ensure their safety and your assistance and support in this effort is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do for your children and our school. Thank you for your continued partnership to keep our school safe.

      • Tardy 6-9: three hour after school detention

      • Tardy 10+: one day of EC

    • At the conclusion of the class period, teachers should change the attendance codein eSchool for any tardy student from absent to tardy. The attendance code for students, who were 15 or more minutes tardy, based on the tardy pass time stamp, should remain unchanged.

We are working to encourage students to discontinue the practice of remaining in the student parking lot until the tardy bell rings. All campus entrances, with the exception of the Attendance Office, will be secured at 7:10 AM to ensure all students have properly entered the secure check points. After 7:10 AM, all students will be required to enter through the Attendance Office.
