Congratulations to Hoyland's 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Barbara Thomas

Hello, my name is Barbara Thomas. I grew up in Gibsland, a small town in north Louisiana. I am the only child of 10 to graduate college. I serve as the First Grade Team Leader. I am overjoyed to have been selected as Hoyland’s 2014-15 Teacher of The Year. This is my 20th year teaching. This is my 5th year in SpringISD and at Hoyland. For the past 4 years I have taught First Grade.  I graduated from Grambling State University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. I have taught grades PreK-8th. I have a strong passion for teaching math. My goal is to make sure every student that enters my classroom receive a quality education that will prepare him/her for the future!

Congratulations Hoyland's 2013-2014 Rookie Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Emily Jamieson

My name is Emily Jamieson. I am a First Grade teacher here at Hoyland Elementary. I am so honored and blessed to have been named as the “Rookie Teacher of the Year”. I would not be where I am today without God’s provision, guidance, and blessing. I am so thankful to Him for all that He has done in my life and to my wonderful, supportive family for all the opportunities and love they have given me. My husband, James, is my biggest encourager and supporter and I am so grateful to him for his continuous love and support. I absolutely love coming to work each day to guide and teach my students and help shape them to become positive, contributing members of society one day. I am so thankful to be able to work each day in order to make a difference in every student’s life in my classroom. Thank you for this honor.

Congratulations Hoyland's 2013-2014 Paraprofessional of the Year

Mrs.  Janete Pradia!

I am truly honored to have been selected by my peers to be Hoyland’s 2014 Paraprofessional of the Year. It gives me great pride and joy to receive this recognition for the work that I do each day. My work experience includes working with children records as an Administrative Professional for more than 13 years and as an Administrative Assistant for more than 18 years. The best part of my job has been the opportunity to build relationships with our staff and community since becoming a part of our Hoyland Family in 2012.  I feel blessed to work in a place where many Hearts connect to do ONE job which is to serve students to the best of our ability.  We are a TEAM at Hoyland Elementary and  I am glad to be part of this WONDERFUL school.  I am grateful to my peers for this special recognition.
