Pioneer Teacher of the Year 2011-2012 Mrs. Tacarra Williams
My name is Tacarra Williams and I currently teach 2nd grade Language Arts/Social Studies. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI and moved to Houston, TX 6 years ago. I am happily married to Eugene Williams II and the proud mother of one son, Eugene “Tre” Williams III. I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelors of Administration in Management and Criminal Justice. Also, I hold a Masters of Business Administration from Texas Southern University. I have always held a passion for teaching down in my heart and was tremendously influenced by my grandmother, Coloise D. Powe, who taught for 37 years in the Detroit Public School System. I received my teaching certification from A+ Texas Teacher Alternative Certification Program. This is my second year teaching in Spring Independent School District and I am blessed and honored to hold the title of “Teacher of the Year” at Hoyland Elementary. It means even more to me that my fellow colleagues recognized my commitment to my students and chose me. I am a firm believer in education and will help my students with whatever it takes to be successful.
Pioneer Paraprofessional of the Year 2011-2012 Ms. Ashley Bailey
My name is Ashley Bailey. I am the Science Lab paraprofessional at Hoyland Elementary. I have worked with children for eight years. I started working at a daycare with pre-k. Through the years I have worked at summer camps, pre-schools and have done private tutoring for children. I love working with children and I aspire to continue to work with them in different settings.
